Yuki Tokuda


Yuki is originally from Japan, and was trained under Mikiko Dei, Hideo Fukagawa and Jun Ishii, internationally recognized dancers, teachers and competition judges. She moved to the United States in 2000 to continue her dance training and to pursue a professional dance career.

Ms. Tokuda has danced professionally with the Metropolitan Ballet, Peoria Ballet, USA Ballet and Cities' Classical Dance Ensemble and has been the principal dancer at Continental Ballet for the past 7 years. With diverse training in classical, contemporary, modern and jazz, she is an international guest dancer and collaborator with many companies, including James Sewell Ballet and Ballet Minnesota. She has an expertise in pointe work, partnering, company etiquette and enjoys teaching aspiring dancers. Ms. Tokuda trained at the prestigious Joffrey Ballet School in New York and with David Howard, John Prinz, Fabrice Herrault; and Michael Vernon at Steps on Broadway as one of the first International Visa Program students; the Boston Ballet; and the Connecticut Ballet.

She has performed the principal and soloist roles of Lucile Grahn in Pas de Quatre, The Peasant Pas de Duex in Giselle, Princess Aurora, Lilac Fairy and Princess Florine in Sleeping Beauty, La Corsair Pas de Duex, Don Quixote Pas de Duex, Les Sylphides, the Sugar Plum Fairy and Clara in The Nutcracker, Odette and Odile in Swan Lake, Coppelia and Giselle. Ms Tokuda, also, is a certified STOTT Pilates teacher and she is the designer and owner of Yukitard, a custom leotard company for ballet dancers and students.
