Kate Ann Behrendt
Kate is a Minnesota Native. She grew up training under
the direction of Lise Houlton at Minnesota Dance Theatre. She received
additional training from The Juilliard School, Pacific Northwest
Ballet, and The Chautauqua Institute. She attended New York University as a Tisch merit scholarship recipient. She has danced professionally with The Charlotte Ballet, Columbia City Ballet, Ballet NY, and is currently dancing for Riet Velthuisen’s Continental Ballet Company in Bloomington, MN where she has danced lead roles such as Princess Aurora and the Sugar Plum Fairy.
Kate has performed works by various choreographers including
George Balanchine, Dwight Rhoden, Robert Battle, Jean-Pierre
Bonnefoux, and William Forsythe. Reviewing a piece titled 'Orange'
(choreographed by Stanton Welch), Lauren Gallagher of New York’s
DanceTabs recently wrote: “Her line is excellent, her warmth palpable,
and her musicality is on form” .
